5 little things that cause acne -ugh-

I tend to have semi crappy crappy skin and these things are essential for my skin to be clean.
( I am going to mention that above all these tips, the best things for flawless skin is a balanced diet, lots of water and excercise)

#1 Crappy Higiene
Not rinsing your skin well when removing skin cleanser can cause acne in your hairline as well as the jaw line.
The cleanser has too much astringent to leave on your skin. Wash your face in the shower if possible, if you do it in the sink, use a damp towel and rinse and repeat several times. Keep in consideration that a perfectly clean skin is washed, toned and moisturized. (Most people think that they have oily skin, when in reality their skin might be so dry -because they don't moisturize- that it is producing extra oil to compensate)

#2 Dirty Hands and Dirty Brushes
Another reason why we should wash our hands regularly! Germs also travel and reproduce in your make-up brushes and sponges. Wash them regularly ( I wash once a week ) with a light shampoo.
Keep an antibacterial in your purse at all times for hand emergencies.

#3 Stress and Hormones
In a special way, girls more than guys, have their stress and hormone levels directly linked with acne outbursts. Lucky us!
If you are under a lot of stress, your hormone levels soar and cause an increase in your estrogen and cortisol.
Find some time to relax and sleep enough at night so your skin regulates and repairs itself from that stressful day.

#4 Un-Sanitary Pillows
Bacteria multiplies in your pillows and you do spend 6-8 hours with your face flat on them.
We should turn our pillow every night and wash our pillow cases more than regularly.
An average person washes their bed sheets once a month. Pillow cases should be washed or changed once a week at a minimum.
Try getting latex pillows: they're cleaner than those of goose down or other materials ( though I can't get enough goose down!)
#5 Our best friend-worst enemy: ALCOHOL
All of the toxins that our body receives are absorbed by the bloodstream and expelled through the skin.
If you're out partying all night and then pass out for 10 hours, all those toxins are making camp on your skin!
Make sure you drink lost of water and take vitamin supplements to fight off those toxins!

*** Make sure you use products that are non-comedogenic ( meaning that they don't block your pores)

always a pleasure, T.
