thank you for not smoking.

1 month ago from today I stopped smoking! I am proud of myself that after 8-9 years aprox of the gross habit, I am finally kicking it. It has been tough. I used to love smoking for many reasons, obviously the nicotine but mostly because in a weird way, smoking looks cool if done with style.

it wasn't until ( after 8-9 years ) i started noticing the very popular effects, that i didn't always believe, of smoking on myself that i decided to stop. these little fuckers made my life a living hell now that i think about it. I only put myself in so much danger its not even worth remembering. Im glad I stopped and I'm starting to feel better than ever.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to stop smoking, I'm just going to state the reasons I quit smoking which I noticed on myself.

1. My hair was dry and brittle and even after numerous hair cuts and treatments every few months, it never looked as full and shiny and long as it does now.

2. the first thing i notice on someone i meet is their teeth. their alignment and their color. Very sad to say that as much as i took care of my teeth and washed and flossed and gargled, they started to take on a disgusting yellow tone.
2.5: my breath! has anyone ever kissed a smoker? its like sticking your tongue in an ashtray.

3. I've always had minor acne problems and my skin has never been perfect. But I noticed that my skin took on a yellowish tone as well. It was always dry and never looked refreshed.   The more I smoked, the more dry my skin got and the more my acne would act up. Thank God I have not shown any wrinkles yet but I'm almost positive it wouldn't have been long if I'd kept smoking.

4. Last but never least! the smell. oh the smell. I would wake up after a party night and smell my fingers and sometimes throw up. smoking really gives you the worst hangover ever! I would use the same hand bag from the night I went out and everything in it smelled and tasted like ash and smoke.
I threw out some of my favorite shirts because I couldn't stand the smell anymore.

Even though, after all of these little things I've noticed, none of them will have permanent effects.

My teeth are getting whitened soon, my skin is looking fresher than ever ( of course the excercise, water and diet are helping as well ), I smell like vanilla and coconuts and my hair is almost down to my waist with amazing shine!

please double doubt when you are about to smoke a ciggy.

again, thank you for not smoking!

always a pleasure, T.
