I had a few requests about blogging about my wedding. Most people want to know how much I spent on Deco and food and drinks, etc...
I read a million websites and blogs about weddings to know how much was expected to be spent. We were lucky enough to have the support of our family members! We only had a small civil ceremony with immediate family and friends. Which came out to be around 200 people, yikes!
Here's an estimate on how much was spent.
We had the reception at my grandparent's house in Ensenada B.C.N. It was supposed to be the coldest day of the year ( of the decade ) but it was beautiful either way. It rained all day but we made it happen.
rain = luck
double rainbow = bonus luck
we originally wanted 10 tables in the outside yard but due to the rain we moved 6 tables to the inside of the house and 4 stayed outside under a large tent. Cost of rental (tables, chairs, tent, table covers ) $150 dlls.
outside
inside ( we left a space for dancing! )
I wanted a small ceremony with a big party afterwards, I didn't want people to expect a formal dinner and a first dance, etc...it's only our civil ceremony. so we had paella for dinner and a wine barrel and whisky that was leftover from my brother-in-laws wedding in October. Total cost of food and drinks: $900 dlls
the people that served the paella had their own white square plates that went perfectly with the 'wedding theme'
they served a nice amount of paella with a delicious salad and some bread.
Our friends at Roganto let us pay for the barrel in several payments.
My sister in law had extra wine glasses!
As for decoration, my godmother Seldom (who saved our lives!) brought a whole bunch of stuff that she had used in other of her friends' house weddings. She took candle holders, stones, candles, decorational lights, +.
I had made customized matchbox wedding gifts for everyone to take if they wanted, I bought disposable cameras for each table ( btw: they had a cute bride drawing on them), I had some crystal plates from a dinner party the year before. Total cost of centerpieces: $92 dlls.
I selected the color and the font and the design at www.beau-coup.com
Disposable cameras bought at www.walmart.com and crystal plates bought at IKEA

The wedding deco itself was simple, i took some inspiration from Martha Stewart weddings and re-created them.
I bought these paper balls somewhere online.
Total cost of paper deco: $45dlls
I love my mami!
I was super hungover from a bacholerette party the night before and I was in the worst mood ever.
I was super nervous and the rain just kept getting worse.
I kept almost yelling at her to put these things the right way and closer together and NO not that one and still she did everything with a smile!

I bought some gerber daisies that same morning in light pink and white for the centerpieces and a couple of bright pink roses for the "lounge area".
My mother has a cafe in the property and let me borrow some frapuchino glasses.
I cut the rose bud and put it insed the over turned glass and put a pink candle on the top ( being the bottom of the glass since its turned over).
total cost of flowers: $15 dlls
We had an ipod and speakers for music outside and inside we had music on the surround system.
Total cost of wedding: Aprox $1202 dlls. ( give or take the extra details )
I had a blast on my wedding, everyone was happy and full and drunkie! I couldn't have asked for a better party. hope this helps.
always a pleasure, Mrs. Tucker
